St. Francis Xavier University is located in the town of Antigonish in Eastern Nova Scotia, about a 2 hour drive from Halifax, and 30 minutes from Cape Breton. Temperatures in late January are typically -10 to 0 C, and can be colder with wind chill during the night. Most visitors will arrive by plane at Halifax airport. Getting to Antigonish
Arriving by Bus
MaritimeBus.com offers direct connections to Antigonish twice every day. The travel time is around 2.5 hours. The bus stop at the airport is about a 50 meter walk from the terminal. The bus stop in Antigonish is right on campus. The fare is around $50 one way.
Arriving by Car
From the airport, take highway 102 in direction Truro. At the end of highway 102, take highway 104 in direction New Glasgow/Cape Breton. There are many parking lots on campus, and there are no parking fees.
